About Us

Who we are

– Architectural Engineering Institute – Missouri S&T received its official charter from AEI Nationals in 2001 when Missouri University of Science & Technology was called the University of Missouri – Rolla (UMR). Ever since, AEI – Missouri S&T has introduced hundreds of architectural and civil engineering students to professional career development, connecting civil students through social and service events, offering scholarships and awards, and partnering with various companies to improve community relations!

– The Missouri S&T Student Chapter of the Architectural Engineering Institute provides extremely important value to our members. We meet once every two weeks, alternating Wednesdays with American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) S&T, lasting around an hour with an industry leader talking about their professional job, representing their company, presenting various civil engineering projects, or providing different tips for being a professional engineer with provided pizza! Architectural engineering students practice working together effectively, and we promote a spirit of congeniality. We accomplish this vision by offering one or two service project opportunities per semester as well as through competitions, industry exposure, leadership, professional development, networking, social events, and scholarships. Alongside ASCE, we also organize the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) review sessions in Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall with professor guidance and by selling FE review manuals. Be a part of one of the most prominent engineering societies in the world!

AEI Nationals

– The Architectural Engineering Institute is a discipline-institute and technical group of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in order to bring together volunteers from around the world to advance the profession’s technical, business, and professional expertise. Knowledge, experience, and best practices are shared through conferences, workshops, peer-reviewed journals, books, manuals of practice, seminars, webinars, and consensus standards. Architectural engineering is the application of engineering principles and technology to building design and construction. Architectural engineers work together with architects and civil engineers but are unique in both their skills and role as part of the building design team.

– The American Society of Civil Engineers represents more than 150,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries. Founded in 1852, ASCE is the nation’s oldest engineering society. ASCE stands at the forefront of a profession that plans, designs, constructs, and operates society’s economic and social engine – the built environment – while protecting and restoring the natural environment.

– Join thousands of ASCE/AEI Student Members who are making a difference in the architectural engineering professional community right now, while still in college. Alongside AEI Missouri S&T, we have 23 Student Chapters in the United States, all actively supporting students’ growth as future architectural and civil engineers. Being part of a student community is just one of the many ASCE/AEI member benefits you can enjoy as you plan your next moves on the path to graduation!
